/u/Dormin111 describes the way the Disaster Artist movie greatly mischaracterizes Tommy Wiseau, and how the public perception of him as a quirky and eccentric film maker covers up harmful mental illnesses.

Disaster Artist - Insanity is No Shortcut to Inspiration

I read Disaster Artist on a whim when the movie came out. I’ve since gone through the audiobook 3.5 times and can confidently say it’s one of my favorite books of all time. I expected just to hear funny anecdotes about the making of a famously awful movie and the man behind it, but I found so much more depth. In my eyes, Disaster Artist is an examination of insanity (which I am defining as “the inability to perceive reality to the degree of low or non-functionality in regular life”). The book is a pushback against a subtle cultural norm that sees crazy people as having some sort of gift or potential or insight that everyone else doesn’t.This message hit me especially hard because I had my first real experience with a crazy person only a few months before I read Disaster Artist. Hobbyist web dev advice for a single board setup

As the title states I'm keen to start tinkering with a SBC set up namely with the goal of having a single machine to do web development on.Ultimately looking to run things like Chrome, VSCode (for JS) and Postgresql DB locally. Windows is okay, but Linux would be ideal. Would be interfacing with a 24" monitor and Bluetooth keyboard/mouse.My expectations are pretty low and I know I won't find anything super powerful but just keen to use this as a goal for getting into hackable boards/computers.What would y'all recommend? submitted by /u/toooooooon to r/MiniPCs
