Incredible Beatles/Hip Hop mashup - found this via Professor Elemental's Facebook Post

Some will be aware that today is the fifty-first anniversary of a musical singularity, for it was February 7, 1964 when The Beatles once boarded Pan Am Flight 101 to New York. However, as you’re about to find out, today itself is also a musical singularity. Why? Let’s just say it had to do with a certain J. Lennon esquire’s insistence that the band’s Boeing 707 fly over the Bermuda Triangle. Which means you’re about to get your hands on An Adventure To Pepperland Through Rhyme & Space – the epic 48-track double LP download documenting the consequences of an unscheduled detour through a rift in the space-time continuum by the Fab Four…to 1990s Brooklyn.

DARPA to Begin Testing Satellite-Launching Fighter Jet This Year

The United States military's ambitious plan to launch satellites from the belly of a fighter jet should get its first in-air test later this year. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) aims to begin the flight-test phase of its Airborne Launch Assist Space Access program, or ALASA, with a demonstration run in late 2015. If all goes according to plan, a series of 12 orbital flights would then commence in early 2016 and wrap up by the middle of the year, DARPA officials said.

Why comparing Vaccine denying to Climate Change denying is not a good thing

Image
tl;dr: it would turn a health issue into a political membership badge/loyalty check

In other words, vaccine risks do not register as a matter of contention on either of the major dimensions along which risk issues culturally polarize members of our society.Surprised?Well, in one sense you shouldn't be.  Cultural polarization on risk is not the norm.  Most of the time culturally diverse citizens converge on the best available scientific evidence -- here that vaccines are high benefit and low risk -- because the cues and processes orienting members of different groups with respect to what's known by science are pointing in the same direction regardless of which group they belong to.  Conflict occurs when risks or like facts become entangled in antagonistic meanings that effectively transform positions on them into badges of membership in and loyalty to competing groups.  That's happened for climate change, for gun control, for nuclear power, for drug legalization, for teachin…
