Wrong!

I will show you in this instructable how to cook up
a vegan sunny-side up egg which contains no animal products.

It looks like an egg, it feels like an egg,

Wall Mounted Liquid Cooled System
The water-cooling system is a simple loop that covers both GPUs and the CPU, and bleeds the heat through one 360mm radiator wih three 120mm fans running at 1200 rpm. The pump is running at its lowest setting, which is still easily enough to keep temperatures down. Consequently, the whole system is very quiet. .
Idle temps for CPU and GPUs are 38 C, and 32 C respectively.
Load temps for CPU and GPUs are 63 C, and 68 C respectively.
The temperature of the water in the loop never exceeds 30 C.

Professionally shot proposal by drone [Last year in Facebook]

Found this video from stuff I'd posted a year ago on Facebook.

This is, if not the first quadcopter aided marriage proposal, than at least the most professionally shot quadcopter aided marriage proposal.
Jason told Christina that he wanted to take some photos of her in the park.

During the photo session the engagement ring flies in on top of a small RC helicopter and he proposes to her on the spot.

Jason was shooting with a 5D mark II. Two aerial cameras were used on the helicopter, a Gopro Hero 3 black and an 808 keychain camera.
Additional ground footage shot with my 5D mark III.

Yes, I know that it’s hard to outdo the Internet as the best result of military research
(hard to believe that something originally designed for government sponsored research
now mostly deploys cat videos)
but this research from Wake Forest’s Institute for Regenerative Medicine sure comes close.
Think of this – 3D scanning of a burn area, with 3D printing of skin tissue for skin grafts to follow.

During phase I of AFIRM, WFIRM scientists designed, built and tested a printer designed to print skin cells onto burn wounds.
The “ink” is actually different kinds of skin cells.
A scanner is used to determine wound size and depth. Different kinds of skin cells are found at different depths. This data guides the printer as it applies layers of the correct type of cells to cover the wound.
You only need a patch of skin one-tenth the size of the burn to grow enough skin cells for skin printing.
During Phase II of AFIRM, the WFIRM team will explore whether a type of stem cell found in amniotic fluid and …

That said, one scary thing that is getting scarier by the day and that sets US apart is that you have an entertainment system and media which disproportionately rewards dimwitted behavior and slap-stick buffoonery in the public domain, both in terms of air-time and money, which is one reason why the rest of the world might have a slightly lower opinion of the nation as a whole.https://www.quora.com/How-Americans-Are-Different/Are-Americans-anti-intellectual-compared-to-people-in-other-countries/answers/4546358

Considering the age group that Palcohol is going to appeal to, however, the sweet, pre-mixed powders are probably going to be far more popular.

Kansas Regents Revisit Strict Social Media Policy

Regents committee will look at proposed revisions to controversial social media policy (via LJWorld.com)
"In December, the regents approved a policy that allows university CEOs to fire employees for social media posts that conflict with the university's best interests or ability to provide services.

The regents passed the policy after an anti-NRA tweet by KU journalism professor David Guth sparked a national uproar and prompted some Kansas lawmakers to call for Guth to be fired.

But the social media policy produced a backlash among higher education employees and students who said it was too broadly written and would infringe on free speech rights.

The regents then appointed an advisory work group to consider revisions to the policy. The group has recommended a social media policy that seeks only to advise faculty and staff on the responsible use of social media.

The full Board of Regents will likely take up the work group's recommendation in a couple of months."

The Perfect Passover Nachos - Matzah + Nachos = Machos!

Image
Matzah Nachos. Punny blog name. That is all.
"I’ve mentioned before that nachos are one of my favorite foods.
So good, right? Salty chips and gooey cheese and lots of guacamole. Naaaachos.

Passover is on the horizon, and I’m not one of those anti-matzah people.
I love the stuff! For real. Plus, it’s better to embrace it. Don’t fight the matzah!

So I thought I would combine the two and make the best Passover snack of all time. Fact. Move over, matzah brei! "

The Terrible Tragedy of the Healthy Eater

Awesome satire!

"You have a little panic attack at the idea of a sandwich on commercial bread: GMO wheat, HFCS and chemical additive dough conditioners. Some people see Jesus in their toast but you know the only faces in that mix of frankenfood grains and commercial preservatives are Insulin Sensitivity Man and his sidekick, Hormonal Disruption Boy.

It’s okay, though. You don’t need a deli sandwich or a po’boy. You have a saute of Russian Kale and Tuscan Kale and Scotch Kale (because you love international foods). It’s delicious. No, really. You cooked the kale in a half-pound of butter that had more raw culture than a black-tie soiree at Le Bernardin.

You round out your meal with a little piece of rabbit that you raised up and butchered out in the backyard. It’s dusted with all-natural pink Hawaiian high-mineral sea salt that you cashed-in your kid’s college fund to buy and topped with homemade lacto-fermented herb mayonnaise made with coconut oil and lemons from a tropical produce…

New Study Shows We're Listening to Exactly the Wrong Music at Work

Finally, research backing my workplace listening preferences....
BTW, video game soundtracks tend to work well.

"The songs on this playlist violate most relevant scientific research on the qualities make good productivity music.

Two separate groups of researchers at Focus@Will and Brain Shift Radio (leading workplace listening apps specifically designed to increase focus and productivity) have concluded that best music to listen to while working is slow (around 60 bpms), rhythmically interesting to keep the mind active, and above all else instrumental rather than emotional.

Every study agrees: music with lyrics has "significant negative effects on concentration and attention." "

The Bundy crisis in Nevada

"But you probably see the problem: it’s unsustainable to think a group of well-armed extremists can simply block the enforcement of American laws in the United States.

It’s perfectly understandable that the Bureau of Land Management saw a crisis unfolding and pulled back to prevent bloodshed, but there’s an obvious problem with establishing a radical precedent:

you, too, can ignore the law and disregard court rulings you don’t like,
just so long as you have well-armed friends pointing guns at Americans.

To put it mildly, that’s not how the American system works. Indeed, that’s not how any system of government can ever work."

Additional charges filed against Anthony Bagtas.

From a high school all star to a basketball scholarship to an Ivy League school to being kicked off the team, and now facing multiple burglary charges. Wow.

Someone in /r/programming asked about the Philly Tech Scene so I put together a quick overview that I think might be appreciated here. I'm sure I left some things out so feel free to contribute. (xpost as text because last link was broken)

original commentSure! I think one of our community's weak spots is reaching the suburban demographic, so I would be happy to provide some information.Your timing is impeccable because this week is Philly Tech Week. There are dozens of really interesting and exciting events going on right now and I recommend checking some out. There is no better time or place to get acquainted with the Philly tech scene than PTW.To get an idea of how fast and exciting the startup scene is, I would recommend reading about N3rd St here and here. We're also having a BBQ to celebrate the City renaming our street to N3rd St in honor of our tech community this Friday. Now, as for specific events and communities:If you are interested in civic hacking, or want to put your time and skills to good use benefiting Philadelphians, I recommend you check out Code for Philly. We hold CFP at our office every week as a way to provide space and resources for students, freelancers, makers and ideators to work on th…

DHS Counterterror Centers Produce ‘a Bunch of Crap,’ Senate Finds | Danger Room | WIRED

via Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) :

"Even DHS’ own internal audits of the fusion centers showed they didn't work, according to the Senate report. The privacy disaster is also a boondoggle for taxpayers: DHS can’t account for much of the money it spent on the program, estimating they spent between $289 million and $1.4 billion—a discrepancy of more than $900 million dollars.

Despite these facts, Attorney General Eric Holder issued new guidelines in March for the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) that dramatically expanded the NCTC’s information sharing powers. The NCTC can now mirror entire federal databases containing personal information and hold onto the information for ten times longer than they could before—even if the person is not suspected of any involvement in terrorism. Journalist Marcy Wheeler summed up the new guidelines at the time, saying, “So…the data the government keeps to track our travel, our taxes, our benefits, our identity? It just got transf…

Do not ignore this person. I can't tell you how many times a customer blew past me and walked straight to the Genius Bar asking to buy a phone.

Engage the person at the door; it will keep you from looking like an idiot and you'll probably get the help you need more quickly.

Pro tip: If you are bringing your phone in because you dropped it in the toilet, make the employee aware of this fact before they take possession of the phone. Nobody wants to barehand a toilet phone.

Pro tip: Always back up the device you are bringing in for service. Appointments are for a set amount of time, and backing up at the store limits the time a Genius can spend with you.
